The workshop will focus on:

• Clarifying the process of Section 136 - under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act, police have emergency powers to assist individuals believed to be in immediate need of help due to a mental disorder in a public place. They can take you to a place of safety for mental health assessment.
• Understanding the concept of a place of safety, the collaboration between police and HPFT
• Mental health training for the police
• The role of Street Triage across the county.
