Our Members You Said, We Did At Viewpoint, our core mission is to make sure that people in Hertfordshire with a history of mental health or drug and alcohol challenges are able to use their experiences and the knowledge that they've gained on their recovery journey to help to shape the delivery and effectiveness of the services that they have used. I would like to say that starting singing a group would benefit many people who need to relax and need to be able to breathe correctly! Boost their morale to join in a group and learn to sing with love in their hearts, making them very happy it is good for their soul. Music is so relaxing and I love singing! You couldn't be sad when singing! Hope by joining together and breathing correctly you feel happy! - Viewpoint Member via Email We ran a singing group with singer-songwriter Lisa Redford, that started in June 2022. A second group began in December 2022. An attendee said: "Being able to be part of some community singing in spite of me being tone-deaf and unable to sing in tune. This is something that I have wanted to try for years, but have been too self conscious to do in person." - Dec 2022 Our singing groups have been met with a high level of enthusiasm and attendance across their two sets of dates. The welcoming and fun environment provided by the group has enhanced people's confidence and caused a noticeable uplift in mood. A member enquired about the advertisement of Viewpoint and the services that are offered Viewpoint advertises its services on most major social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), as well as via emails to members, posting to GP surgeries, registering groups as part of the Warm Spaces scheme and also creating a community on MeetUp.com. We also regularly undertake postal updates to members who may not have access to the internet. These solutions have served to steadily increase Viewpoint's exposure across Hertfordshire and has helped to reach new members. We were asked about the possibility of providing certificates to members, after they have attended a course with us. Viewpoint's Administrator, Jamie, produced a certificate template which can be utilised by our Peer Facilitators and handed out to members at the conclusion of all of our courses going forward. These certificates serve as a reminder of the progress that our members have made, giving them the confidence and motivation to keep on growing and achieving bigger and better things. Enquiries about help with employment opportunities. We regularly share employment opportunities within our weekly bulletin, which goes out to all of our members every Friday. We have also partnered with Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) for multiple role since 2021. Advertising a variety of roles from different organisations gives our members a chance to stay up to date with roles that are relevant to them and may even use their lived experiences as strengths to find gainful employment.
