We are actively seeking Telephone Volunteers to check up on Viewpoint members wellbeing during Covid19. 

Purpose

Telephone volunteer will call a number of Viewpoint members / stakeholders the (sometimes the same person – at the same time) each week, to provide a listening ear, links to other services and to monitor general well being during this unprecedented time.

Main tasks

· Provide telephone support to alleviate loneliness and social isolation and help to build confidence and social connection(s).
· Report any concerns or problems to the Volunteer Coordinator / Chief Executive as your earliest opportunity.
· Read and understand the information provided as part of the induction training
· Understand and work within Viewpoint Telephone boundaries and expectations.
· Adhere confidentiality agreement.
· Record and claim any out-of-pocket travel expenses on a monthly basis.
· To take care of own Health & Safety and that of others affected by your volunteering activities where appropriate.
· To record information about the call (this will be explained via our administrator)

Skills, experience & qualities needed
- Good organisational skills.
- Work as part of a team
- Good listening and communication skills
- Understanding of confidentiality
- Understanding of the needs of people with mental health and substance issues in the community
- Patience and empathy
- Reliability
- Flexibility
- Willingness to undertake induction training and work within the organisation's guidelines and policies Have time to spend on this role.
- IT & research skills.

When and where

Time and days flexible but we will require at least a weekly slot at first to get the pack up and running. You can work from home or in the office.

Support

Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to £15 (return journey) per session. 
Induction and training provided.
Group supervision offered.
