Staying Connected - Community Action Dacorum's New Digital Inclusion Project Community Action Dacorum have launched a new project to help combat digital poverty. Staying Connected aims to make use of old laptops and tablets, donated by members of the public, and redistribute them to people who really need it. The Covid pandemic has thrown to light (and made it more intense) of the mental health struggles related to inclusion and participation particularly with the older generation who have not been able to see family and friends since last March and are feeling more and more isolated as time goes on. This two year project is funded by the late, great Captain Tom’s fantastic fundraising effort and sees Community Action Dacorum working across Hertfordshire alongside Hertfordshire County Council, the NHS Trusts, Voluntary Sector organisations including the CVS's and us here at Viewpoint. On their behalf, we are asking for donations of unwanted IT equipment such as laptops and tablets, which will be securely and safely wiped of data and then redistributed out to those identified as in need. If you can spare an old laptop or tablet, they'd be very much appreciated! Please get in touch with Cindy Withey by emailing here.
