As you may already be aware, if you read Issue 1 of this bulletin or joined us at the redesign meetings we held in October and November, we are making a series of changes to the way we deliver substance misuse treatment in Hertfordshire.

Monday January 9th 2017 – All medical reviews will take place in either the Hatfield, Hertford, Stevenage or Watford services.
End of January 2017 - All Spectrum teams will be moved into their new primary hubs and the Borehamwood, Waltham Cross, Letchworth, St Albans and Hemel services will be used as community satellites for group sessions and key-working.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are local services closing down? Services are not closing down. We are going to stop using 5 hub buildings by the dates mentioned under ‘Changes to hub locations’ (left). This will not happen overnight and we will source alternative community venues in the affected areas to hold groups and one-to-ones. All medical reviews, vaccinations etc will take place in the nearest remaining hubs as of January 9th 2017 and staff will be based there when not doing keywork or holding groups.
Where will key-work and group sessions take place? For now Service Users will still attend these sessions at their regular hub. Once the use of alternative venues has been finalised, their Key Worker will inform them of where they need to attend.
What about medical reviews? Service Users that need to attend medical reviews will do so at one of the 4x new primary hubs: Hatfield, Stevenage, Hertford or Watford.
Are Key Workers changing? All Key Workers are specialising in new roles so they can provide a higher level of care to Service Users. These roles are: Specialist Drug Worker Specialist Alcohol Worker Rapid Engagement and Brief Intervention Worker Complex Case Worker
This means that although we will try to arrange for Service Users to see the same Key Worker this may not be possible.
What about the Doctor or Nurse? Likewise the regular service Doctor or Nurse may change in January.
When will this happen? Key dates are listed on the left hand side and centre left (above).

Hertfordshire County Council is looking at new ways of creating person-centred day services. These will take account of current and future need in Stevenage and St Albans for people living with Learning and/or Physical disabilities.
We are currently assessing all those attending in house day services for Stevenage and St Albans for adults with Learning disabilities and physical disabilities. We are also gathering data from transition teams and colleges on future need.
Once we have gathered this data we will create a service specification that takes account of the diversity of need. As a provider of social care services we would like to invite you to one of our provider engagement events to discuss these opportunities further.
Thursday 4th June at Fowden Hall, Rothamsted Research, Harpenden, Herts http://www.rothamsted-manor.co.uk/pdfs/location.pdf for St Albans Learning Disabilities day services.
