Open art pilot project exhibition at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage

A small collection of artwork completed by service users at Beech Unit will go on display soon at the Lister Hospital. All pieces were created in a pilot project facilitated by Hollis Dixon ex-service user and Lisa Banks HPFT Art Therapist. Over the 16 week project, service users designed and created artwork in pencil, acrylic and craft mediums. The projects aim was to improve social skills, confidence, self-esteem and create link to the community outside the unit based in Kingsley Green, Radlett.

The skills and mental health well-being of service users who took part in the project improved with the aid of the art based activities within the project structure. The artwork can be seen outside Aston ward at the Lister Hospital Mental Health Unit in Stevenage from January 28th. For further information regarding the exhibition preview please contact Lisa Banks HPFT art therapist lisa.banks@hpft.nhs.uk
