Welcome to the Autumn newsletter

It’s been a busy few months for the Safeguarding Children Partnership and many of you will have been involved in attending some of the events developing our practice in working together.

Our new programme of Designated Safeguarding Leads’ Twilight Sessions is starting this autumn on ‘Adverse Childhood Experiences’.

The HSCP Safeguarding Adolescent Group has been working hard to develop the actions that the HSCP is responsible for in the Hertfordshire Serious Violence Strategy and held a work shop in July focusing on how we can work together to prevent young people being vulnerable to exploitation and getting involved in violent situations. There is an article in the newsletter about the annual Champions Against Child Exploitation event which was very well attended and will inspire our work over the next year.

The HSCP Learning Hubs are really developing and feedback is being used to shape the work of the HSCP. Supporting families early to prevent neglect of children will be the focus of Learning Hubs events in the autumn. Private Fostering Week took place in July, however do make sure you are familiar with what constitutes a private fostering arrangement and if you are unsure details of where to get advice is in the newsletter. Please do give us feedback on this newsletter and the website as both are important ways for the HSCP to communicate with the children’s workforce and receive your views.
