General advice services
These sessions are open to everyone and offer information and advice on all subjects including benefits, relationships, employment, housing and debt. If you know of someone who has a problem they would like to discuss, please encourage them to drop in to see one of our trained advisers.
No appointment is necessary. After a brief assessment an appointment may be made if more time is needed.

Money advice for people with rent or mortgage arrears. The advisers can help to negotiate with creditors, identify options for dealing with debts, advise on benefits and help to maximise income.

Money advice for Paradigm Housing tenants with rent arrears. The adviser can help to negotiate with creditors, identify options for dealing with debts, advise on benefits and help to maximise income.
Although we can help anyone in Hertfordshire, the tenant must be able to get to Hatfield for the appointment. Where this isn’t possible they should drop in to their local CAB.

Healthy Homes – for residents of Welwyn Hatfield
Advice on fuel efficiency and getting the best energy deal. After an initial assessment, usually by way of a home visit, the adviser will provide information on the schemes available to help with home improvements and adaptations. Advice will be given on grants available to help people to heat their homes as well as practical advice on reducing fuel costs.

Welwyn Hatfield Community Housing Trust Advice Project – for tenants of WHCHT
Debt and benefits advice from CAB advisers for WHCHT tenants. The advisers are based at the WHCHT housing offices.
Tenants are asked to either contact their housing officer or email the CAB advisers direct for an appointment.

Disability Benefits Project – Hertfordshire residents
Do you know of someone who needs advice and support with applying for Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance? After a brief assessment an appointment will be made with an adviser who can assist with completing the application form. Home visits are available.

Advice for Deaf people – Hertfordshire residents
We can provide advice on any subject provided in British Sign Language, Sign Supported English or Lipspeaking. To book an appointment, email firstname.lastname@example.org giving brief contact details and the adviser will get back to you. If email cannot be used please send a text to 07756 148591. Calls cannot be accepted to this number.
Appointments will take place at the CAB office local to the person needing advice.
Money management workshops
Also known as financial capability, these workshops are designed to help people budget and make their money go further.
Workshops can be tailored to individual groups and delivered at your premises.
