150 older people needed for new wellbeing programme

Dear Service User,

Can you help us recruit 150 older people from North Herts and Stevenage to participate in an activity-based programme aimed at improving mobility and wellbeing?

Called Positive Movement, the programme combines the essence of Yoga with the principles of Alexander Technique – and is derived from a well-researched American-originated method called ‘Adaptive Yoga’  developed for people whose reduced mobility and flexibility will not allow them to participate in regular Yoga sessions.

Classes are to be held in Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Royston and villages – a total of 15 sessions each week.

The programme is open to:

o   Older people

o   People with mobility problems

o   People living with chronic illness

Thanks to funding from Herts County Council, the cost to participants will be a nominal £2.50 per session.  Classes will consist of 1 hour of activity + ½ hour socialising over tea and biscuits.

Please can you fan this to your own contacts and help ensure that as many older people in our community as possible hear about this programme.

We have attached a flyer, but could produce hard copies should you need them.

Best wishes
