The Department of Health (DH) has launched its annual GP Patient Survey, for the third year running.
Postal questionnaires are being sent to a selected five and a half million adults who are registered with a GP in England. The aim is to assess patients' experiences of their local NHS services.
The survey, part of the Government’s commitment to a more responsive NHS, will ask patients about a range of issues, such as appointments, opening hours, and the quality of care received from their GP.
A statement on the DH website suggests that “Last year people’s views on services from their GP proved really helpful… the results of the survey will be used to allow PCTs to reward practices that are delivering a high standard of access to their patients.”
