On 7th July, The Living Room Hertfordshire will open its doors to the public. You are invited to learn about the positive wellbeing impact we are having on our clients', their families and our community.
The Living Room Herts works with clients at their lowest ebb and endeavours to steer them onto a path of recovery, from addiction, that allows them to lead fulfilling lives. Once in recovery, our clients benefit from improved physical and mental wellbeing and are able to form healthy relationships. Their families, often caught up in the turmoil that accompanies a loved-one's addiction, are freed from the burden of shame, fear and despair. When our clients are in recovery, the wider community benefits enormously, with reduced costs and pressures on our health, justice and social services and increased levels of social cohesion, employment and safety.
The doors open at 1.30pm, when you will be invited to talk with counsellors and learn about our treatment methods. Some of our clients will then deliver inspiring testimonies about their treatment for and recovery from addiction to substances (including alcohol, heroin and prescription drugs) and behaviours (including eating disorders and internet addiction). You will also hear from clients who have benefitted from treatment at our Friends and Family Group.
