Become a Trustee Trustees Needed! Viewpoint is a user involvement charity for people to share their personal experiences on drugs, alcohol and mental health in order to influence positive change. We’re the only organisation of its kind in Hertfordshire that focuses on giving people a voice to influence change. Hearing firsthand from our users offers valuable advice that can help others. Through their expertise, this information can greatly help providers to make the biggest difference in peoples’ lives. We achieve this by: Representing our service users Holding 'Get Together' meetings with Guest Speakers from different services around the county Hosting specialist workshops Carrying out surveys and listening to user feedback Providing training and recovery focused courses We are looking for new Trustees that are willing to bring energy, enthusiasm, commitment and diversity to our board. The role of a Trustee Our trustees play a vital role in making sure that Viewpoint achieves its core purpose - hearing service users voices and influencing positive change. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity. They also ensure that Viewpoint has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the executive team to enable Viewpoint to grow and thrive, and through this, achieve our mission. Personal skills and qualities · Willingness and ability to understand and accept their responsibilities and liabilities as trustees and to act in the best interests of the organisation. · Ability to think creatively and strategically, exercise good, independent judgement and work effectively as a board member. · Effective communication skills and willingness to participate actively in discussion. · A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. · Enthusiasm for our charity.
